Alice in Wonderland final illustration

To begin with, I sketched out a lot of work to figure out what to for my final design. I did a compilation of them all; of all the heading and once you can pick out what each heading is, you can then depict which part is which.

I used water colour and ink because water colour is a very subtle yet beautiful paint that creates a textures effect to each sketch. The pens were my pens that didn't run, because most inks would have run once being painted over with water based paint. Although my sketch of Alice isn't what people automatically assume Alice to look like; it does in fact have my interpretation of what I personally visualise Alice to look as!

I tried to capture the scene in a fairy-tale like stance, where it all fits perfectly and all looks subtle and visually appealing.
I wish that I'd have taken more time to do this because I'd like to put more detail into it! I call this a "final piece"; but if I had more time I would definitely make it more detailed and make sure it is even more precise and more aesthetically appealing.
I glued a piece of organza over the sketch; this is represent a curios mind which is the main setting throughout Alice In Wonderland. It is slightly see through which I depict as 'teasing' the curios mind.

The organza is held down with glued pieces of drawn leaves. This is to add more to the effect and again keep the theme of Alice In Wonderland. If I had more time, I would have made it more nature based, bugged scale and a lot more exciting!
I used acrylic paint to paint cloud-like shapes on a dark blue background. Because, throughout the story Alice In Wonderland is show to be a very sunny,  pleasant place to be, I figured I should  paint some clouds on and make it slightly more exciting.

The mixed media used; (acrylic, watercolour, ink, glue, organza, paper, card) are to represent indirectly the wild state of the story. Throughout the story you're shown what a mad-mess it is, which I thought doing my final piece in a way that shows it to be mix media and exciting, would represent that perfectly. I did even at one point contemplate using real plants, but then realise they would sustain their natural state and would die.

Illustration finals

These are the final paintings for illustrations that I painted. I first of established a dew designs that I could make, which lead me to what you see below. The yellow painting of the heart, is my absolute final design. I originally wanted to base the designs off of a name called "hole in your soul" however after designing the design with the monster-human-like-creatures and the then creating some other designs I my sketchbook, I soon changed that to a wider variety so I didn't 'stump' my thought process. I had sivved through a lot of designs and thoughts to come to this point, but I decided to stay with the concept of "whole thinking with an open mind."

Before actually completing a final piece, I had an idea whilst falling to sleep and quickly sketched it out. This is the quick sketch I did on my iPad for convenience reasons. I thought that by combining painting and pointilism, it would make it contrast well and then the heart in the centre to be an indication to always see the possibilities that you can achieve.
This was my design before I had finalised it. I decided to paint the back yellow because it would be pleasant and radiant to almost represent "radiate love." I used card to raise the heart to represent its importance and then the eye-hole parallel dimension to show the importance of looking into your own heart, finding what you'd really like and to peruse it. The parallel dimension is to show that there's always multiple sides to something, endless possibilities and it's important to look into that.

I used pointillism because that's my own little passion, which is another reason I did painting in the background. The painting is with acrylic paint, with Jackson pollock style splatters go show "getting stuck in" to life and making the most. I wanted this piece to be very enthusiastic, simple-yet-exciting.
Here is a painting I did whilst trying to figure out what I wanted to do for a style. I originally named the piece "gift from nature" because you are indeed that. Being yourself and remembering you're a blessing is definitely something this piece represents, which was the intention! I used acrylic paint to complete the piece and I still have the parallel dimension there to represent always looking at life in a different light.
I completed this design by using paint and it was when I was planning on perusing a compilation of paintings to represent radiating love and passion. I wanted his one to show embracing life as it is; nature filled and an adventure. The flowers and leaves are built up slightly by using messy acrylic paint. This piece was very fun to do and you can tell by the paint strokes that I enjoyed doing it greatly.
This photo is slightly before finishing which the only difference is that there is an eye in the the centre. This was an automatic painting, one that I completely just painted almost mindlessly. This is only of my favourites; it shows love and compassion between individuals. If you look closely, it subtly shows two people gripping each other passionately, which my aim was again showing radiating love. Radiating compassion and love is also shown by the yellow that is being released from the two individuals, which I did to show how being compassionate can impact another's life and those around you positively.
These are my final paintings. They all represent radiating love. However, I changed my final (the yellow tear drop shaped piece) to a tear drop because I represented love, passion and life through the others, all how everything is positive, but nothing about being sad. I thought, by changing the final of this into a tear drop that it would show that, even the happiest of times can have an unhappy ending. But by contrast I thought that it would show that you can pick yourself up again and find the balance between the two. I also added the eye in the one with people because it shows seeing the positive in life.

If I was to do this again I would do the final on a much bigger scale and I would definitely consider doing something more like the two people again as that is one of my favourite pieces and I think it shows more of what in trying to represent.

Compilation of bus station designs

Dave wanted us to try out bus station designs in colour, for the wall hanging. We didn't end up doing it in this format; what we actually ended up doing it in were this format;
However, none of my designs are being used. This is mainly down to how I don't personally enjoy any of my designs enough for them to be publicised and they secondly down fit with the other designs that are being used.
These 6 are some of my favourite. My favourite one out of them all is the bottom middle one because that one is rather bright, exciting and I enjoy it greatly. I think it would be a pleasant addition to the wall if it was going up and it would indefinitely match the others and brighten the room up.

The main issue with my others are that, yes they're very bright and colourful! But they are definitely nothing special. They're all quite bland and lack excitement, but maybe I just personally not like my own designs.

The only reason this one is big is because it would fit on any other size, not because I like it. It's boring and bland and some of my other designs are much better than it!

I'm glad that the other designs are ring used because their work is exciting and fun and will work very well with the space they're using up.

Bus Station

This design is bright, colourful and very vibrant. I was inspired by the London 2012 Olympics badge for the shapes, because I thought that, by interlinking them all and making them all exciting, it would look aesthetically pleasing.
This is the London 2012 Olympics Logo. as you can see, they're similar shapes however they don't  fit together which was a change I made purely for aesthetically reasons.

I think that this design may look better if only half of the design has the shapes on because it draws the attention away from the buses.

Alice in wonderland brief change!

Originally, my brief says that I am going to create little illustrations within dot work, possibly create Polaroids and using a different media source to what I used. But, after the long period of contemplation and of different ideas, I decided to change that to what came f my final piece.

However, I did keep the ink using; I used simple line work but instead of showing shape and form through dot work, I actually decided to use water colour because it's bright and exciting and I discovered it would be more aesthetically appealing and more appropriate for the Alice In Wonderland project.

I also kept that I said I would draw for the chapters and incorporate/interperate them in my way.

Over-all, my thought process changed due to a lot of thinking and a vast time spam of opportunity.

More bus station

I have figured I'm not that fabulous at this. For some reason, my mind doesn't processes well when it comes to designing things that aren't really to what I enjoy, but these are the so-far designs.
I wanted to design something that would be visually appealing and quirky. I decided to put buses around it because the busses look like they're travelling around to places in a strange, exciting manner. I put my favourite river plants on it to symbolise clumber and Sherwood Forest. The centre is the bridge in town turned into a sunshine to add a fun effect. The colour scheming isn't very effective aesthetically and if I was to complete again, I would change the colours to a brighter less dull visual asthetic.

This design was my first in a circular motion. I do think it's bright enough and visually appealing because it's very bold. However, the format of it doesn't look brilliant and I would have a look and play around with different shapes. I could potentially change the colours of the buses because they, despite being bold and looking good, would look even better in different colours.
