To begin with, I sketched out a lot of work to figure out what to for my final design. I did a compilation of them all; of all the heading and once you can pick out what each heading is, you can then depict which part is which.
I used water colour and ink because water colour is a very subtle yet beautiful paint that creates a textures effect to each sketch. The pens were my pens that didn't run, because most inks would have run once being painted over with water based paint. Although my sketch of Alice isn't what people automatically assume Alice to look like; it does in fact have my interpretation of what I personally visualise Alice to look as!
I tried to capture the scene in a fairy-tale like stance, where it all fits perfectly and all looks subtle and visually appealing.

I wish that I'd have taken more time to do this because I'd like to put more detail into it! I call this a "final piece"; but if I had more time I would definitely make it more detailed and make sure it is even more precise and more aesthetically appealing.
I glued a piece of organza over the sketch; this is represent a curios mind which is the main setting throughout Alice In Wonderland. It is slightly see through which I depict as 'teasing' the curios mind.
The organza is held down with glued pieces of drawn leaves. This is to add more to the effect and again keep the theme of Alice In Wonderland. If I had more time, I would have made it more nature based, bugged scale and a lot more exciting!
I used acrylic paint to paint cloud-like shapes on a dark blue background. Because, throughout the story Alice In Wonderland is show to be a very sunny, pleasant place to be, I figured I should paint some clouds on and make it slightly more exciting.
The mixed media used; (acrylic, watercolour, ink, glue, organza, paper, card) are to represent indirectly the wild state of the story. Throughout the story you're shown what a mad-mess it is, which I thought doing my final piece in a way that shows it to be mix media and exciting, would represent that perfectly. I did even at one point contemplate using real plants, but then realise they would sustain their natural state and would die.
