Surrealism in advertising

Surrealism in advertising is a clever way to engage the intended audience in your product or what you're advertising. As the above image portrays; the lady is somewhat 'clever/bright' for using their beauty product and is 'wired up right'. Also, by making the focus point brighter, draws the audience's eyes instantly to the focus point. As this is a strange, usual piece (like the vast majority of surrealist pieces) makes it interesting for the audience to actually look at.
The following images show how using clever puns/using the image in every day places that you'd not typically assosiate the image to be in; and how it draws and engages the intended audience in, is used vastly across media:
The final two images are spoofs on famous, recognisable artist pieces. By doing this instantly engages the audience.
By cleverly putting the intended object in the foreground, make you look straight at the image. However, sometimes when it's blend in, it makes you want to look longer and look for the object due to it being interesting and out of the ordinary.
By doing all this, makes the audience instantly engaged in the piece and they're more likely to remember what you're advertising!
