This piece was highly inspired by Helen Saunders work (which is above.) my main aim throughout was to build up my work, piece by piece and somehow developing it into a complete 3D art. I experimented with compositions of life drawing, which I later turned it into a vorticist inspired art work. As you can see from other blog posts, I have experimented with both futurist and vorticist compositions taken from my life drawing. This lead me to how I built up to my very final one, inspired highly by Helen Saunders above artwork.
This is made up of the body, using ink and black paint. I tried to capture the way Saunders depicts certain body parts and breaks parts up, with the black outlined sections for it to be developed further with patterns.
This is the image I took parts off of. If you look closely to the image, of my drawing which I did on my iPad; it is very representative of it. You can definitely use it compare mine to Saunders work.
The above images are a mock up to test how my work can be shown in a 3D format. It was around 4inches (the circumference of the square) and was made of card, wooden sticks, paper and ink. It worked well and it definitely represented my own work well with a striking representation of Helen Saunders also. I tried to minimalise it slightly, but still capture each aspect. The hanging pieces are a representation of the patterns without it being over crowded.
