Yorkshire Sculpture Park

After being there before, I wasn't overly surprised at it all but it had been a while and a lot had changed. I was very excited to see Gormley's work, especially since Gormley is the main sculpture artist I find interesting! I personally don't take that much interest in sculpture because I don't enjoy creating it, but I find Gormley's work very unique and interesting.

I like the way they positioned it because it cast a very appealing shadow which complimented the over all composition even more.

I didn't especially see anything else I like after Gormleys work, except for these odd sculptures that I never caught the name of:

I did however stumble across some beautiful illustrations in the gift shop. I have always been interested in the Disaster Design illustrations, which is a brand that use illustration as their most focal point on all of their pieces. With that in mind, these following images are of the art I absolutely loved:
The above really caught my eye because I think it is very "adventure time" illustrative and that always appears really fun to me. I love the use of colour and the way things aren't specifically identifiable as objects!
This is very "disaster designs" which is a brand sporting this illustrative style and typography specifically. I love the use of colour because they always make it bright and never (well, rarely) include a black outline within their work!
I have a "thing" about block colouring with the similar colours but in different colour shades! I love the use of the green in the final one because it looks very aesthetically pleasing because of how well the colours contrast nicely and the top one looks like it should be a crazy advertisement! I would like to create something like the top one, myself because I think their aesthetic is very positive and the use of block colour without making it look patronisingly simple, seems a challenge.

I absolutely love how this illustrator created these. The compositions all work so well and the doll-like-figure adds more to the rather intricate illustrative style. The bottom one makes me feel happy; mainly because all the flowers look so intricately illustrated and they're so bright and aesthetically pleasing.
